Nash Farm Fall Round-Up

Step back in time at the 23rd annual Nash Farm Fall Round-Up. The free event starts at 10 a.m. and includes a pumpkin patch, pie making and pony rides. Attendees can learn how grain is processed, see farm animals, watch historic demonstrations like campfire cooking and take a ride on a wagon. The Farmers Institute, located outside Nash Farmhouse, will host demonstrations of farm skills such as carpentry, sewing and food preservation. Oct. 14

Butterfly Flutterby

The 26th annual Butterfly Flutterby celebrates monarch butterflies’ migration from Canada to Mexico through Grapevine. The free event starts at 10 a.m. and includes butterfly releases, a parade, a costume contest, arts-and-crafts stations and an art contest. More than 300 butterflies will also be on display. Oct. 21

Oktoberfest

Southlake’s annual Oktoberfest is back with food, beer, live bands and vendors selling handmade arts and crafts. The free event takes place at Southlake Town Square and pulls in thousands of visitors. A children’s area provides entertainment for the younger attendees. Dogs are welcome, and of course, there is the popular wiener dog race. Oct. 13-15
